Additional Information Regarding Bundles

A bundle is a possible treatment program that your health care provider may utilize in your care. Bundles are derived from claims information and other data that combines inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary claims to build an example of a treatment episode from the onset of care until treatment is complete. A bundle may consist of one or several health services that may span any duration of time depending on the health condition being treated. Bundles may include simple single procedure events (one step) or complex episodes of care (multiple steps). Each step in the bundle represents one or more services.

A service can be an office visit, an x-ray, a lab test, a diagnostic or surgical procedure. A bundle is merely an example of what services may be ordered to treat a specific condition.
